Make them small and you can eat them all.. well with these little cakes you are going to want to eat them all! At least if you like chocolate (if you don’t I’m not sure if I feel sorry for you or envy you!). I hope you like them as much as my husband who was very sad he only got one and the rest were shipped off to a local cafe.
I fancily decorated mine with a fondant rose and if you want to do the same they are extremely easy to make. Just cut out about 8 little rounds of fondant in any colour you like, place them overlaying each other a bit in a row and roll up to the shape of a rose. I could make a tutorial about it but honestly, there are so many good ones on YouTube and I’m still not very good at making them so I won’t even try! Then cut out some leaf shapes out of green fondant and off you go into baker fanciland!
1 cup melted butter
1 cup cocoa powder
2 cups of sugar
Large pinch of salt
1 cup of plain flour
Adding one 1 tbsp vanilla bean paste (can be excluded) or a tbsp of coffee is also yummy!
MILK CHOCOLATE GANACHE
225g chocolate of milk chocolate
1.Put the oven on 185 degree Celsius
2.Grease your mini cake tin.
3. Add sugar, cocoa and butter to a large bowl and mix thoroughly.
4. Add the eggs, flour, salt and vanilla. Mix again and place in the cake tin.
5. Bake for 20 mins
6. Once cakes are completely cool make the ganache. Melt the butter and cream together in a bowl over a water or in the microwave, stirring regularly.
7. Dip the cakes in the milk chocolate ganache and place on a cake cooling rack and let the excess ganache can drip off.
8. Decorate while the ganache is still soft and let cool completely to set. Place in the fridge for an hour and it firms up perfectly!
